Halloween Poupelle is a collection of 10,000 generative profile picture NFTs (PFP) produced by the Chimney Town DAO community, due to be released on 31 October 2022. A Japanese comedian, Akihiro Nishino, is in charge of the base design, and his team produces vibrant art tokens by employing eye-catching visual traits.

Who is Akihiro Nishino?
Akihiro Nishino, the founder of Chimney Town DAO, is a Japanese comedian, writer, and illustrator known for Poupelle of Chimney Town. Poupelle of Chimney Town is a Japanese animated fantasy film based on a children’s picture book written by Nishino. Nishino wrote the screenplay and served as the executive director of the film.
The film won the Japan academy film prize for animation in 2021.
Nishino has been one of the most influential figures in the Japanese web2 space. His closed online community, Akihiro Nishino Entertainment Labs, has over 30,000 members – some of them are well-known business figures and influencers in Japan.
In early 2022, Nishio announced that he would expand his business into the web-3 area and founded the Chimney Town DAO on Discord.
Chimney Town DAO and Halloween Poupelle NFTs
The Chimney Town DAO aims to create a community that Web3 beginners can join and learn. To make the environment safe, Nishino decided to sell the Chimney Town DAO NFT collection, AKA SHINZO (heart), at 0.01ETH and invited only the owners of the NFTs to join the DAO. The DAO has over 13,000 members at the time of writing.
So far, the Chimney Town Dao team has released a hand-drawn NFT collection designed by Nishino, Chimney Town Poubelle. The Collection has forty-nine items in total with a floor price of 29 ETH at the time of writing.
The Halloween Poupelle will be the first generative collection that the team will release.
The team hasn’t announced a roadmap yet, but Nishino has commented on his podcast that he was not interested in profiting from this project. The main aim is for the DAO members to enjoy the process of creating a generative collection and deepen their knowledge of Web3 through the experience.
This collection may be Nishino’s first step into introducing his IP, Poupelle of Chimney Town, into the web3 space and expanding the Japanese NFT market by attracting Poupelle fans.
How to Get Halloween Poupelle Whitelist?
All DAO members are eligible to receive the whitelist by applying through the Chimney Town DAO community before 20 October (to become a DAO member, you need to own the Chimney Town DAO NFT).
Special pre-sale access has been granted for the Chimeny Town Poubelle owners. They are allowed to mint up to 20 NFTs.
